Beechworth 2025

My sister (SS), my daughter (JJ) and myself did our yearly day trip to Beechworth today. Photos taken are compliments of SS.

Our first stop was High Grove Berry Farm for berry picking, this is the main reason we go every year. Nothing beats berries straight from the plant/vine.

After spending the morning picking berries. Raspberries, blueberries, blackberries are in our future. (Sadly due to the crazy weather we’ve had recently the cherries weren’t ready to be picked.) We headed back into the town of Beechworth and had lunch at the Beechworth Bakery Its the main place to go to lunch when visiting.

Then it was time to add to the step count and go for a wander around the town. First stop the Beechworth Sweet Company. It stocks sweets that bring back the nostalgia of childhood, they also sell fudge and some giftware if that is more your style. We dropped into the Beechworth Gold Jewellery store to check out the solid gold horseshoes and all the other shinies. We then went to Beechworth Honey and fell across the Bee School along the way.

After checking out the main street we quickly dropped into Last St Brewery to check it out.

On the way out of town we visited the Historical Beechworth Cemetery as JJ hadn’t been there before. We got to see the Chinese Burning Towers and the different sections of the cemetery from gold mining era to recently.

The day for us isn’t complete without visiting Woolshed Falls. Its a popular place for people to look at and climb among the rocks, you can also have a dip in the water holes. This was a gold mining area back in the day and there is still metal poles in the rock formation that can be seen from the lookout.

Beechworth is a great place to check out if your in the area as there is alot of history, small stores and small town feel. Looking forward to 2026 when we go back again for another girl day of fun, sun and walking.
