This week has been all about cooking from scratch. I’ve started making my own butter again, restocked the jam, and bought myself a bread tin with a lid to make bread that actually looks store bought. I also started making ice cream from scratch again — at this rate I’ll need shares in a cream company.
Juicing has also made a comeback. So far, we’ve juiced oranges and apples that nobody was eating. We learnt the hard way that you need to freeze apples first then defrost them before juicing — consider that your free tip for the week! 🍎
The vegetable garden is mostly surviving. I think the ants got a few seedlings, but most are growing happily — I’ll take that as a win.
And while I was at Bunnings, I found a kit to grow a Bonsai from seed — four chances to get one right. All four are currently sitting on the heater for warmth and whatever sun manages to appear between the rain. 🌱
