“You are both curse… and cure”
– Alex Aster, Nightbane

If you liked Book 1 of The Lightlark Saga, you may be interested in my Nightbane Review. I have mixed feelings about Nightbane, I get the reasoning behind the book. I loved the memories of Isla and Grim, but I wish I didn’t have to feel like I lived the 30 days, for a few paragraphs. It was so anticlimactic. I finished the book feeling like this could be half the size as there was so much filler.

I will read book 3 because I want to know who she ends up with, and I’m still on team Grim. Oro feels more like a dad than a soulmate.

I did give it 3 stars for the memories side, as Nightbane felt like 2 stories in one: the current timeline and the memory timeline. Which I would guess is not easy to portray.

This is my 1st book read for the HYCRED 3.0 or Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do 3.0. If you would like to know more about the reading challenge, click here.
