Today (13/03/2026), Nala and I went for a walk along the Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk in town. The trail winds along the Murray River and features sculptures created by Aboriginal artists that share stories of living culture.
“Yindyamarra” is a Wiradjuri word meaning respect, honour and moving through the world gently, which really suits the peaceful feeling of the walk.
My favourite sculpture was the Kookaburras. They looked so lifelike even in their larger form. Nala was more interested in the new smells along the path, but she happily wandered along and even got pats from a passing gentleman.
It’s one of those places that encourages you to slow down, take your time, and appreciate both the landscape and the stories it holds.
If you ever find yourself in Albury, it’s a beautiful place to take a quiet walk, learn something new, and enjoy the riverside with good company, whether that’s a friend, family member, or a curious dog like Nala.
